Certamen coreográfico 10 Sentidos

Espacio Inestable

The 10 Sentidos Choreography Competition reaffirms its genuine character among dance competitions on an international level, both for the quality of the options in competition and for the volume of proposals received, which each year are surpassed and add up to more than 350 applications from all around the world.

Despite the international component that characterises the event, this year, as an exception to guarantee the attendance of all those selected for the competition, the call for entries will be limited to proposals from national territory. A decision that the Festival has decided to resolve in this way, given the circumstances caused by the health crisis and the limited mobility between countries.

Originality, quality and new languages of movement will remain intact and will be the main features of this year’s event, which will be held at Unstable Space.

El jurado estará compuesto por Roberto Fratini, dramaturgo y docente en Institut del Teatre; Juan Pablo Soler, director del Teatro Circo Murcia; Teresa Lasheras, dirección de artes escénicas y música Museo Universidad de Navarra; María José Mora, directora artística de Dansa València; y Guillermo Arazo, director artístico Espai la Granja decidirá cuál de las ocho vibrantes propuestas finalistas es la ganadora, a quien le concederá el Premio del Jurado y se le otorgará una pieza de la firma Lladró. Además, Espacio Inestable concederá el premio MIGRATS, que seleccionará una de las piezas para participar dentro de la programación de MIGRATS 2021.

The jury will be made up of Roberto Fratini, playwright and teacher at the Institut del Teatre; Juan Pablo Soler, director of the Teatro Circo Murcia; Teresa Lasheras, director of Performing Arts and Music at the Museo Universidad de Navarra; María José Mora, artistic director of Dansa València; and Guillermo Arazo, artistic director of Espai la Granja. They will decide which of the eight vibrant finalists is the winner, who will receive the Jury Prize and a piece from the firm Lladró. In addition, Unstable Space will award the MIGRATS prize, which will select one of the pieces to participate in the MIGRATS 2021 programme.

La Basal – Rocío Barriga y Luna Sánchez | Quiral -1,5m- [13’]

Quiral -1,5m- is a choreographic proposal that looks for different identities within the same being. What it would be like to live with them, what it would be like to discover that what seemed identical and similar to you can become your greatest adversary. In this way two bodies build a solid unity, they share the same space and time, and they unite through the hands, the “red zone”, something that the eye has become unaccustomed to in this new normality.

 

Marina Fueyo | Invitación matutina de la perturbación [12’40’’]

A space converted into a defective system that dictates, through perturbation, the peaceful existence of those who live there. Innocent beings lacking memories who adapt to the deficient system, the product of unknown consequences. Adapting to the system will be the only condition.

 

Elena e Iván | FI DU [15’]

Not just a simple relationship? Communication through the body, sincerity through the gaze and trust through silence. What are we looking for? What are our boundaries? Breathing chaos and order. Two bodies ready to let themselves fall, to jump into the void, to enter a dream and be picked up. Nothing further from reality, in emotional and physical longing marked by the social situation that makes us fly beyond many horizons.

 

Cía. Silvia Batet | Oblivion [14’]

Oblivion is a word that means unconsciousness, amnesty or forgiveness; it is a place of transformation situated between mourning and emptiness, between memory and nothingness. In this sense, it is the representation of a border crossing, from the known to a blinding, unexplored beyond. Oblivion could be an image of the classical purgatory, as described by Dante in The Divine Comedy: the place of transition par excellence, conditioned by the idea of the circle, by the eternal wandering of bodies in space; as if in the act of moving through space there is ultimately a letting go, a renunciation of everything that binds us to suffering: memories, desires, identity. To wander, vacare in Latin, means to wander, to float, to wander; but also “to be empty”.

 

Iron Skulls Co | Un último recuerdo [15’]

Un último recuerdo is a work that deals with forgetting and transformation as a process of creation, where memory and trust are transformed into dance. It speaks to us of forgetting, of the experiences that we try to hide from ourselves in an attempt to cover up something deeper, in order to avoid conflict.

 

laSADCUM | The Lesson [15’]

Through mechanisms of appropriation and collage, The Lesson functions as a choreographic found footage that thinks about our behaviour in the post-internet era.

Manuel Rodríguez | Mandala

ENTERTAINMENT is a piece in triptych format that unfolds in three chapters: Mandala, Fractal and Totem. In this project, based on physicality, an approach is constructed that suggests the possibility that the contemplative state may not be so far removed from its symbolic antagonist, entertainment. The narrow border between both ways of perceiving would be the place where this project develops, a space of potencies, ambiguity and paradoxes that functions as a trigger and a turning point. In this first chapter, Mandala presents a body in pause, out of time, suspended. Waiting perhaps for the right moment to act. Each moment has infinite possibilities that do not occur until there is an observer. In Mandala is generated an indefinable, indomitable body, fragmented in innumerable parts. A limited entity that nevertheless contains all identities.
