Cachetejack mural presentation “The New Warm Times” in collaboration with OceanFEST, Oceanogràfic Valencia

The illustration duo Cachetejack joins the 15th edition of the festival with a mural intervention that is, at once, a piece of breaking news and a symbol of survival. Located in a space dedicated to the custody of memory such as the Hemeroteca, the project The New Warm Times is born from a clear premise: design as a tool for recording and raising awareness about the current state of our planet.

The central image of the mural features an iceberg whose submerged section reveals the shape of a heart. Inspired by their research at the Oceanogràfic, the artists propose this visual metaphor to explain the vital function of the poles: they are the engine, the organ that pumps life and maintains the currents that regulate global balance.

In a nod to the literary world, the press, and the archives that define the Hemeroteca’s environment, the mural is structured like a newspaper front page. The title, The New Warm Times, plays with classic journalism iconography to headline the most relevant news of our era: global warming. The piece integrates the mission of Living Nature Vol_02 by turning urban art into a living historical document. It is an invitation to read the seascape not as a distant resource, but as an organism that suffers and reacts, and whose health is the only headline that should matter to us.
