Checho Tamayo is a transdisciplinary artist, performer, pedagogue and former footballer born in Medellín, Colombia (1994). His most recent research, Los juegos has been selected by the prestigious festival Danse Élargie del Théâtre de la Ville-Paris to be shown in June 2024. He has won three consecutive years the INJUVE national call for proposals in the categories of curatorship of the Sala Amadís (2020-2021), production of work (2021-2022) and mobility (2022-2023). His first creation Moritūrī tē Salūtant was co-produced by the MeetYou Valladolid Festival, premiered in the main hall of the Teatro Calderón and received the award of the international festival WE:NOW 2023 held at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. His works have been exhibited and presented in other venues such as MAMM (Medellín), Chiayi PAC (Taiwan), C.C. Conde Duque (Madrid), Salón Nacional de Artistas (Bogotá), Sala Amadís (Madrid), Teatro Pradillo (Madrid), Teatro de la Abadía (Madrid), C.C. Monte Hermoso (Vitoria), Teatro Pablo Tobón Uribe (Medellín).
