La Oscilante is about alterity, about moving altogether through the curved and the straight, the linear and the discontinuous, to reveal the continuous vibration of duality.
The dancer Pol Jiménez and the stage director Juan Carlos Lérida investigate mainly on the duality of the Spanish dance to unravel the possibilities of a non-genre dance. In the oscillation of steps and poses, new perspectives of the genre appear.
For this 20-minutes version, they have selected those movements transforming both our bodies and our reading and comprehension of what surrounds us.
Juan Carlos Lérida is a teacher, choreographer, dancer and dance researcher. He is one of the current representatives of avant-garde flamenco. His empirical flamenco is nourished by the research on Los Cuerpos Flamencos y sus Periferias, both in its teaching method and in its scenic works: El Arte de la Guerra, El Aprendizaje and Al Toque, Al Cante, Al Baile.
Pol Jiménez is a choreographer and dancer. Trained at the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza del Institut del Teatre and at the Centro Andaluz de Danza. He has worked as a choreographer and dancer of the Fura dels Baus work Amor Brujo. He has also created his own works, premiered in Mercat de les Flors and Sala Hiroshima, among others. He collaborates as a creation assistant with Juan Carlos Lérida, who is also director and choreographer of his last production, La Oscilante.
