Simon Bus was born in the Netherlands in 1989. He started break dancing when he was 12 years old. In 2013 he graduated in Visual Communication from the Fine Arts & Design Academy in Maastricht while continuing to dance. With his inquisitive gaze and his hyperflexibility, Simon expands the ideas conceived about movement.
The starting point of Bus’s work is the fascination with the non-conformity that daily existence entails. The game between having control over life and losing it is a recurring theme in the Dutch artist’s work that becomes sharp and brutal while trying to maintain a sense of humor. In 2022 Simon Bus received the innovation award for his contributions to dance in the Netherlands.
