For the first time, and in response to a desire for research, El Conde de Torrefiel is preparing to conceive a play for a family and young audience. Los Protagonistas aims to test our ability to create theatre for people born in the new century. This creation once again endorses the company’s desire to question the possibilities of abstraction and poetics of the theatrical format: that it tells without telling, that it avoids the gesture of telling by illustrating and that on a conceptual level it is based on mechanisms that appeal to intuition and free sensitivity. The proposal thus aims to generate a scenic device capable of leaving the spectators the space to complete the experience through their own intellectual baggage and imaginative universe. This new piece focuses on the value of imagination and complicity in which the perceptive experience of one’s own body in relation to the different installations stands out, through a scenic journey – a journey on foot through strange environments – where the perception of oneself is adulterated by the surrounding space. A journey through the guts of this impossible world, which invites, as in an analogue video game, each of the people who enter to participate and to support themselves in the small group of which they will form part and who, as in an expedition of explorers in search of a hidden and prodigious place, have at their disposal only a few tools and their ability to put themselves into play within a scenographic labyrinth.
