Marta Pazos is one of the most relevant artists of the Spanish stage avant-garde. She makes her debut at the 10 Senses Festival with SODA, a piece commissioned by the festival for the closing of this edition.
Since 2000 she has directed theatre and opera for the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatre Lliure, Centro Dramático Nacional, Teatro Real, Teatro Español, Teatro de La Abadía and Centro Dramático Galego. She has been given the award of Honour for Merit in the Performing Arts of the MIT Ribadavia, the Dorotea Bárcenas Award of Honour. Her work stands out for its plastic dimension and an aesthetic emancipation beyond realistic theatre with stagings of great visual impact in which colour manifests itself in a radical way.
In SODA, Pazos plays with concepts that have been with her since her first
early paintings of the 1990s. Magic, master numbers (specifically 11), the invisible, the mirror and the reflection, fantasy and reality come together in this refreshing piece performed by twin girls.
