As if it was an actress, the city waits for someone who gives her the chance to be out in the scene while she reviews once and again her text, meanwhile no one listens to her. If, while we walk across the street, we are able to tear our eyes away from the phone and take off the headphones, we turn into the public of that city. A city that we have always understood as the set, but now it appears as another character, for the first time, and it is willing to talk to us directly.
Through a visual and sound radiograph of the city we will let the walls, the paintings and the sounds reveal a possible story, one of many, but a real one, very real…
“Quan les parets parlen” (When the walls speak) is a live performance in which the both artists manipulate the illumination and the sound on live to explain a unique and exclusive story, characteristic of each city.
The visual dramaturgy is created through photographies, taken out from the walls. As the space as the sound are taken from urban spaces that turn into narrators.
Two set designers and a dramaturg join to bring to life to that visual and sound show about the city through its graffities; a show born, created and managed by two set designers (Laura Clos (Closca) and Núria Vila); developing the piece with the tools they know the most, space and light; and with the idea of working with the innovation of the scenic language.
