QUIEROYNOPUEDO

CANTATATICÓ/ Jesús Ge

May 11th / 6:30pm

Plaza del Ayuntamiento

A performatic recital of sound poetry with a strong thoughtful nature showing us how language shapes us. Five voices that play with provocation to make us question our prevailing discourse.

It is important that we pay attention to what the media wants us to be; that we remember where we come from to know where we are going, or we would like to go; how language shapes us; how our voice distorts or shapes us. Let’s be formal. Let’s not say any word louder. Let’s not say.

The polyphonic conjugation of five different voices brings us closer to the possibilities of spoken music. A project combining the mystery and ambiguity of experimental poetry with the possibilities of human voice as a musical instrument.

It is made up of three poets, two singers, a musician, a linguist, a translator, a bald man, a mother and a guy from Madrid. All of them within five voices that squash language and surprise us with those new meanings created by playing against language.
